Angular 9 – What’s new?

Angular 9 is a big release with 99% of the changes happening under the hood:

• Ivy activated by default
• smaller changes
• but really Ivy

Ivy

Ivy is Angulars new compiler and runtime. It reduces your project bundle sizes, which will have the most impact on large and small scale projects. Besides smaller bundles Ivy treats you to faster testing, more detailed console messages for debugging and some minor improvements in certain areas like type checking.

Update

Go to update.angular.io if you want to update an existing Angular project.
